Arrowhead Football Going Back to State
Last year’s Arrowhead Warhawks football team ended their season as the WIAA Division 1 champions, beating Sun Prairie 35-14.
Last year, the Warhawks football team ended the season with a perfect 13-0 record and was ranked first in the state and 18th in the nation according to Max Preps.
Now, the Warhawks are heading back to Camp Randall, home of the Wisconsin Badgers, looking to repeat another state title.
The Warhawks, 12-1, will take on the Franklin Sabers, 12-1, in the WIAA Division 1 state championship Friday, November 22, at 4 PM.
Senior linebacker Matt Seitz said, “The thing I’m going to remember from state this year is the last time being together with the teammates I grew up playing with…It’s a great feeling knowing that you accomplished something twice that most people dream about.”
Seitz said, “My favorite memory this year is beating Hudson and knowing that we are going back to state.”
Senior cornerback Charlie Reuteman said, “The thing I’m going to remember from state this year is playing in Camp Randell and playing in front of all the fans…It feels good to make it to state. I will remember it forever.”
Reuteman said, “My favorite memory from this year is spending all this time with my teammates and making it to state.”
Seitz said, “Franklin is a very good team. They have a great passing game with a solid running game. Their offense is very balanced.”
Reuteman said, “Our biggest threat is Franklins quarterback Sean Mcquire and their offense. They are a very good passing team.”
Seitz said, “I believe that we will win but it will be a tight game.”
