Finco Ready to be a College Athlete
Arrowhead’s Ricky Finco is a 5’9”, 165 pound senior. Finco plays on the varsity football and basketball teams.
Finco said, “Being a two sport athlete is very demanding. It takes up a lot of your free time, but it is a good thing to be a part of.”
During the fall, Finco plays wide receiver for the Warhawks. He has been on varsity for three years. He was a big part of the Warhawks 2012 season. That year, Finco had 43 catches with 1,015 yards receiving. His stats helped the Warhawks win the 2012 WIAA Division 1 State Championship.
Finco said, “My favorite sport is football. I’ve always had the most love for the game. In my option, it’s my best sport and that makes me enjoy the game even more.”
Finco said, “I have been offered a roster spot from Butler University and a walk on for Northern Illinois University.”
Finco is one of many players on the Warhawks 2013 football team with a division 1 offer.
Finco said, “My dream school would be the University of Wisconsin. It has always been my favorite college. They have a great business and education program and it is my dream to play football for the Badgers.”
Now in his senior season, Finco is one of the team captains.
Finco also has been on the Arrowhead Varsity Basketball team for three years. Playing guard, Finco came off the bench for the AHS basketball team the last two years. But, he says he is looking forward to starting in his senior season.
Finco said, “During the off season, I take advantage of my off time. I relax and just hang out with friends.”
