Girl’s Soccer Season Starts Up

Arrowhead girls soccer had finished tryouts before spring break started and are officially starting their season the week of April 3rd.

Their first game was Tuesday, April 4th. It was a win for the team, 3-0 against Waukesha South. Multiple players said that they had been working hard to prepare.

Senior Emma Schwenker says that her preseason work has been difficult but she knows that the coach is pushing them harder because he knows how good they can be. They were third in the Classic Eight conference last year.

Junior Teagan Safranek said that she is very excited about the season. She says she has been working hard as well as preparing for the season. She plays for EBU Elite in the summer and fall. She says soccer takes up most of her year.

Arrowhead’s second game of the season was on Thursday, April 6th. This moved them to 2-0 with a 1-0 win over Franklin.

Between April 7 and 9, the team hosted a “Quad” which consisted of Eau Claire Memorial, Whitnall, Wayland Academy, and Arrowhead.

Saturday, April 7th, they had a game at 7pm and took the 1-0 win against Eau Claire Memorial.

Sunday, April 8th, the girls went on to play Whitnall at 1pm for the championship, winning 3-1.

As of April 10th their record is now 4-0, scoring 8 and conceding 1 for the week.

Schwenker thinks that they will have a very good season this year. She wants to end on a high note for her final season at Arrowhead.
