At Arrowhead High School’s South Campus, there is a large area in the cafeteria devoted to a space called the Union.  There you can find a bunch of lunch tables set up, along with a ping pong table, basketball net, a projector with a Wii, and a table where you can purchase snacks and beverages.

The Union is a way for kids with a 3.5 GPA to have fun in study hall.  It allows them to go to the cafeteria during study hall.  There, they can play Wii games, basketball, ping pong, or do homework at a table. All of the games are a lot of fun and it’s always fun to play with your friends, especially at school.  It’s a nice break to have in your day.

You can also buy food items such as popcorn, cookies, chips, and granola bars and drinks like Sparkling ICE, Izze, water, and Gatorade.  The food and drink options are really liked by students.  All of the food options are great and they have different items so everyone can enjoy something.  Recently they added new items to the menu including the following: brownie ice cream cake slice, cookies and cream cake slice, and turtle cake slice.  All of the previous are from Culver’s and sell for $3.

The cost of popcorn and granola bars is $0.50. Cookies and chips are $1.00 and drinks are $1.50. You pay for you items by going to the front table.  A student with special needs will assist you.  I think the prices are very reasonable for high school students.

The U is open during periods 1-4 and 7-10.

I really like the fact that only students with a 3.5 or higher GPA can go to the U during study hall because they work hard to maintain good grades; therefore, they should be able to have a little fun in study hall.

The U has something for everyone.  It also allows for students with special needs to have fun and interact with other students.

The U is a great way for students to take a break from their school day. It’s also a place to have fun with your friends while enjoying great snacks, drinks, and games!
