Arrowhead Prom 2022: Where to Buy Dresses and how the Students Feel

Prom 2022 is happening May 14th at The Ingleside Hotel. Tickets bought Monday April 18th to Saturday April 23rd are $80/per person. Tickets bought Sunday April 24th to Thursday April 28th are $90/per person.  Juniors and seniors were sent a survey asking what they wanted the prom theme to be. The choices: Starry Night, Masquerade Ball, Hollywood Glamor, or Enchanted Fairytale. The results have not come out on this survey yet. The majority vote wins. The theme from last year was Roaring 20’s.

Another survey was sent out on where to buy a dress for prom. Arrowhead students in Miss Jorgensen’s creative writing classes were surveyed. 10 people responded to this survey. Lulu’s, an online dress boutique, was the most voted, at 40%. Windsor, a popular clothing and formal dress store, came in at 20%. The survey options were: Windsor, Lulu’s, Dillards, Bloomingdales, PromGirl, Nordstrom, and undecided. All of the above listed stores offer a variety of dress styles ranging from $50-$500 or more.

Annika Nielsen, junior, says “I think the theme will be cool. I haven’t bought a dress yet but most of the places listed are where I would purchase them!”

Prom go-ers may take pictures at their homes or at the venue.

Contrary to Annika, Ava Jaskolski, senior, says “I just don’t want to have to pay all that money and it was kind of boring last year”

This year is the first year that the class of 2023 is eligible to go to prom. In 2020, COVID hit and prom was canceled. In 2021, in order to limit the number of students at prom, only upperclassmen were allowed.

Alissa Nelson, junior, says she would buy her dress from PromGirl.

PromGirl is a popular online formal dress store. These dresses are more pricey. Ranging from $100-$700.
