Winter sports are officially in mid season form as well as all of the Arrowhead athletes. The boys basketball team is sitting at 6-2 for a total season record and a 5-0 conference record according to Max Preps. The girls basketball team, however, is 6-1 overall and 4-0 in conference. The girls rank 13th in state currently and play Mukwonago next on Friday, January 5th at 7:00.

Boys hockey is currently 4-5-1 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The hockey team will fill out a 25 game season in the end and will try to make a run in the playoffs shortly after  March. The girls however are 3-7 this year, but look to turn the season around as they have a long, 24 game season ahead of them.

The Arrowhead hockey page stated “Arrowhead High School is fortunate to have the finest on campus ice facility in Wisconsin. The Mullett Center contains multiple locker rooms, a separate Varsity locker room, weight room and video equipment.  The Junior Varsity practices each morning and the Varsity is on the ice from 4:15-5:15  pm each weekday afternoon during the season.   Each team also has one hour of dry land-weight training.”

Senior, Tony Peterson said, “We have had a slow start, but we have a good chance to turn it around quickly with our schedule coming up.”

The girls hockey page also added this statement: “Arrowhead High School is the first high school in Southeast Wisconsin to offer Varsity ice hockey to girls at the WIAA level.  Our program continues to grow and improve because of hard-working players with positive attitudes, knowledgeable coaches, and great fans.  This, backed by supportive parents, the school administration, and local business boosters, along with the on-campus Mullett Ice Center add up to a successful program.”

The Alpine Ski Team is looking strong this year again, as most of the team is returning from a state championship last year.

The Arrowhead page had this to say: “Arrowhead’s Boys and Girls Alpine Race Teams compete against other Wisconsin high schools in races held in January & February. Races are held at local ski resorts including Alpine Valley, Holy Hill, Little Switzerland and Sunburst. Races are held on Wednesday and Thursday; start time is 6:00 pm. Each race consists of two timed runs of either Slalom or Giant Slalom.”

Senior, Jake Stemper said “ I have a few friends in Alpine Ski, and I have hear they are pretty good and think they will win state once again.”

The wrestling team has a long track record of success and it has performed this year by winning their first 3 meets.

The Arrowhead wrestling web page stated, “In the past thirteen years, the Warhawk wrestling team has become a Classic 8 Conference power crowning 62 conference champions and claiming conference tournament titles in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010. 74 Warhawk grapplers have advanced to the WIAA Individual State Tournament with 42 claiming medals, 20 State finalists and 12 Individual State Champions. The Warhawks advanced to the WIAA State Team Tournament in 2004 – 2008, 2011 & 2012. They were a semi-finalist team in ’04, ’06 and ’08 and in 2005 and 2011, they were the WIAA State Runner-up.”
