Fall officially began on September 22nd and there are many things in Southeastern Wisconsin that offer fall activities.

If you’re looking for a place to dive into fall traditions like apple picking, look no further than Elegant Farmer in Mukwonago or Peck and Bushel in Erin.

According to Gourmet Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Food Network, and Milwaukee Magazine the Elegant Farmer has “The best pie in America.”

Elegant Farmer, known for the big yellow smiling barn, and famous brown paper bag apple pie, also hosts an annual Autumn Harvest Fest. Their Autumn Harvest Fest begins September ninth and goes through October 22nd. They also have a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and hayrides.

Harvest Fest, only open on weekends, offers ten types of apples to pick. The prices range from $10.00 for a half peck to $30.00 for a half bushel.

Another apple farm in Southeastern Wisconsin is Peck and Bushel. Peck and Bushel founded in 2010 started with 3,000 organic apple trees and 70 acres of land in Erin, Wisconsin. Since 2010, the company has grown greatly, and now has over 20,000 apple trees in their orchard, according to their website.

Peck and Bushel offer only organic apples, and currently have 18 various apple trees. To know the variates offered weekly make sure and check their Facebook Peck and Bushel Fruit Company.

As of this August, Peck and Bushel opened Peck and Bushel baking, located on the property itself. This bakery offers apple cider doughnuts, slab apple pies, coffee, and apple cider, according to their website. They also have a caramel apple bar where you can take picked apples to be drizzled in caramel.

Peck and Bushel sells empty  pecks of starting at $28.00 per bag to fill with apples you pick on the farm.

Another fall destination, that ties in with Halloween on October 31st, is The Hill Has Eyes. According to their website this haunted house is not for the faint of heart.

The Hill Has Eyes is located in Franklin, Wisconsin, at The Rock sports complex. Using The Rock’s ski lift, Hill has eyes takes customers on a five attraction horror experience.

The haunted house first begins with the Containment: The Hooded Experience, then from here it goes to Failed escape, Hunger Hollow, Scare Lift, and then Carnivore.

“I’ve never been this scared,” says 2017 Arrowhead Graduate Jorja Tolzman. “They literally chased us with chainsaws.”

Hill Has Eyes opened September 29th and will run through Sunday October 29th. They are open Thursday and Sunday, and prices vary depending on the day. Ticket prices begin at $27.00 and go through $50.00 depending on the day.
