Milwaukee Brewers game at miller park stadium against the Chicago Cubs

The Brewers an impressive team considering that the team was projected by the MLB BPI to be in the bottom three worst teams in the whole league. They are a team who released most of their playmakers, a team who has made the playoffs only once in the past 10 years, and has a chance to make it to the playoffs once again.

The Brewers aren’t that out of luck when it comes to making the playoffs what they have to do is continue winning and especially when they play the Cubs or the Cardinals. Those two teams are both on top of the Brewers in the playoff race and the division. But not by much, the brewers are currently only a half game back as they just beat the Pittsburgh Pirates last night eight to two.

Arrowhead Junior Derek Ludtke said, “It is exciting to see that the Brewers even have a shot at making the playoffs as usually they aren’t even close to being in the race to the playoffs.”

As of right now mlb.com currently predicts a 19 percent chance of the brewers making the playoffs and a zero percent chance of them winning the division. But of course they can only predict that way because they think the Cubs and Cardinals are statistically better. The brewers are now only one game behind the Colorado Rockies to get a spot in the National League wildcard. They are currently 3.5 games back from the Chicago Cubs to take the MLB Central division title, which would give them a spot for the playoffs.

Arrowhead Senior Jordan Liempeck said, “The Brewers have a good shot if they keep playing like they have been.”

Although the Brewers fell to the Chicago Cubs in last night’s game they look to bounce back as they are in a four game series against the cubs with three of the games coming up next. The Brewers took a hard loss last night as they were up on the Cubs three to two going into the top of the 9th. The Cubs didn’t back down and ended up getting a man on base. With Kris Bryant up to bat the Brewers pitching couldn’t be slacking, but they ended up with Kris Bryant crushing a two run homerun to give them a two run lead.

Per mlb.com it is now mathematically impossible for the Brewers to win the division title but they still have a chance to make the NL wildcard, there only competition is the Colorado Rockies which are only two games ahead of the Brewers and are in a three game series with the Padres and then in another three game series with the Dodgers.

According to mlb.com the Brewers have a 3 game series with the reds and then a 3 game series with the Cardinals to close out their season. They would need to win out and have the rockies lose out and they could take one of those rare playoff spots in the National League.
