Are you tired of the typical fast food restaurants? Well I have a restaurant for you to try. Mad Science Creamery, located in Sussex, not only serves you delicious food and ice cream, but also puts on a cool theatrical show.

The restaurant is open all week long and located at W249 N5267 Executive Dr #103, Sussex, WI 53089. Sunday through Thursday it’s open from 11am to 8pm, on Friday and Saturdays it is open from 11am to 10pm.

With the use of nitrogen, they are able to make all of their ice cream from scratch. The nitrogen is odorless and tasteless so it doesn’t effect your food.

Not only do they make your ice cream right in front of you, but they also put on a theatrical show. They have sound effects, light effects, creative outfits, and smoke from the nitrogen.

The restaurant also has unique ice cream flavors compared to most places. One flavor is called dulce de leche which is caramel flavored. Other flavors include vanilla, chocolate, butter pecan, red velvet, cake batter, brownie batter, and peppermint.

Second to having unique ice cream flavors, they also have a wide arrangement of toppings. They have more than 35 different items to choose from, such as pureed fruit, name-brand candies, and gummy bears.

Brady Jager, Arrowhead sophomore, exclaims “My favorite ice cream to get there is vanilla topped with wildberry pure. The puree is served in a syringe which I thought was so cool!”

Prices on ice cream depends on which size you get. For 6oz it costs $4.25, 8oz costs $4.99, and 12oz costs $6.50. Each ice cream comes with two toppings, for each additional topping you must pay 50¢. They also offer non-dairy ice cream, which comes with different pricing.

But if you’re not in the mood for ice cream there’s plenty of other crazy foods for you to try. There is a sandwich you can order called The Grilled Fluffernutter, it includes nutella, peanut butter, and marshmallow fluff. There is also the chili donut which is a glazed donut filled with chili. But if you’re not up for a taste bud adventure, you can have the normal food like hamburgers or hot dogs, and many other foods.

Apart from the main menu they also serve side dishes like french fries, cheese curds, and mac and cheese bites. One very unique side, called Poutine, is fries served with gravy and cheese curds.
