On Friday, June 3, Arrowhead High School will host a senior party for this year’s graduating class. The party will begin at nine PM at docking bay 2, and end at two AM. Seniors will not be allowed to leave for the duration of the party.

According to the Arrowhead website, “This party is an annual alcohol and drug free lock-in organized by parents for the graduates.”

The senior party is run completely by parent volunteers. According to the Arrowhead website, the school needs approximately 150 parent volunteers. Volunteers are required to take at least a two hour shift, but are welcome to stay for the entire event.

Blake Carr is a senior at Arrowhead High School, and as of right now, says he plans on attending the senior party.

“I think it is an experience I don’t want to miss. I hear people who have graduated in past years talk about ‘the lock-in,’” Carr says, referring to the rule that no seniors are allowed to leave for the duration of the party.

Carr says, “I think a lot of people will go this year.”

Seniors planning on attending the senior party must fill out a permission slip. The permission slip is available online here.

The cost for attending the senior party is $50 if the ticket is purchased before May 1st. After May 1st, ticket prices will rise to $60. Anyone who waits to purchase their tickets at the door will be requested to pay a fee of $70.

According to the Arrowhead website, as of April 2nd, 30 local businesses have sponsored this year’s senior party.

The Senior Party Committee stated on the Arrowhead website, “We are still in need of donations, especially raffle items, for the seniors.  Please consider making a donation or contacting a business you frequent with a request to support the Senior Party with a monetary or in-kind donation.”

The 2016 senior party will include inflatables, a pool table, ping pong, xbox games, casino, a hypnotist, green screen photos, a DJ, raffles, food and drinks.
