Review: Dexter the Show
Dexter the show premiered on October 1st in 2006 on ShowTime. This is a great show to watch if you are into crime and suspenseful shows. The show is about a man named Dexter Morgan played by Michael C. Hall who works for the Miami police department, while secretly conducting murders. It is very suspenseful because Dexter works for the police and is a serial killer. This gets him in tough situations at times. This is a unique show in the sense that people get to be in the mind of a serial killer.
The cast of Dexter is almost always changing; many interesting villains are slain by Dexter. One of my favorite is Ray Stevenson who plays Isaak Sirko, a powerful leader of the Kosha Brother out for revenge after Dexter is kills one of his men. The more killers Dexter comes across the more dangerous it is for Dexter family and it’s interesting to see how he deals with those situations.
In the police department, Dexter works alongside his adopted younger sister Debra played by Jennifer Carpenter, who is unaware of Dexter’s murders. Along with Debra, Dexter also works with Officer Angel Batista played by David Zayas, Vince Masuka, the department clown who is played by C.S Lee.
Dexter is one of the reasons the show is so unique in the perspective it gives people. There are a lot of things people don’t know about serial killers, but the show puts you in the mind of a serial killer life which is educates you on serial killers. The more you get to know Dexter the more you root for him, and pray he doesn’t get caught.
The show Dexter is great and every season is different. There is also great characters development, especially for Dexter. Sadly the show has ended so it is no longer on Showtime, but it can be viewed on Netflix. Netflix has all eight seasons for viewing.
