Enjoy a Night with Lobsters at the 17th Annual Lobster Boil
The 17th annual lobster boil is coming up on April 11th. It is at Arrowhead High School at south campus. It goes from 5:15 pm through 7:45 pm. The menu includes the following: maine lobster for $23, steak for $17, and hamburger, grilled cheese sandwich, and hot dog platter all for $6. Orders were due by March 19th. The event is hosted by Cafe Arrowhead.
Sophomore, Sara Geschke volunteered for the lobster boil last year.
“I volunteered to help with the program. I set up the table and cleared them when the people were done eating. I also cleaned and put things away at the end,” Geschke says.
All the proceeds from the lobster boil benefit Arrowhead’s special education program and the Arrowhead High School Special Olympics Team.
“The lobster boil had a very good set up and it worked really well. It was easy to volunteer and organize the food and people,” says Geschke.
Last year, the lobster boil was set up like a buffet and the volunteers took their food when they were done and cleaned the table. They’re setting up the lobster boil the same way as they did last year.
“It was fun being with my friends and meeting other people who attended this event,” says Geschke.
If you are in Key Club at Arrowhead High School, you can sign up, like Geschke did, and be a volunteer at the event. The sign up sheet was either emailed to you in your school email or you can go to the key club website and sign up there.
“I’m going to volunteer again at the event this year because it was fun with friends and I liked helping out for key club,” says Geschke
