The Arrowhead girl’s varsity basketball team wrapped up their regular season on February 27th. They are 20-2 and won the Classic 8 Conference Championship.

The Warhawks received a first round bye in the playoffs. Their first game will be on Thursday, March 6th against Waukesha South at 7 pm. at Arrowhead.

“I am pretty happy with the seed that we got in the playoffs. We have a really good chance at making it back to state,” said junior Ally May.

Last year, the Warhawks made it to the Final Four in the WIAA girls basketball tournament but lost to the Mukwonago Indians.

“We didn’t play as well as we could have, but that’s just the way it goes sometimes,” said Zeman.

This year, teams that are in the same regional and sectional as Arrowhead are Germanton, Kettle moraine, Sheboygan North, Waukesha West, and a possible threat for the Warhawks, Kimberly.

“Kimberly and Sheboygan North are great teams in the tournament, but they shouldn’t be a major threat to us,” said senior Abby Zeman.

“I really see us going far. We have a great deep bench and all of us girls have good team chemistry with each other,” said May.

The Warhawks are ranked 4th in the state according to Wissports.net.

The girls final four and state championship game is on the 14th and 15th of March at The Resch located in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
