Arrowhead Starts a New Learning Program for Community Members

Learning Never Ends is a program run by AHS Social Studies teacher Joe Paul. This is a program for adults in the community who want to learn about various topics in a mini course setting. The program takes place in two sessions, both on Wednesday, March 26. Session one is from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm and session two is from 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm.

Paul says, “I decided to offer this program because it seemed like a win/win/win. Community members win because they can take free classes on subjects/topics that they are interested in.  Arrowhead itself wins because it’s providing a free service and positive experience for local residents who will hopefully view the school as a valuable resource.  And most importantly, I think the teachers themselves win because they are able to discuss a topic that they are passionate about with an audience that is genuinely interested.”

Paul says, “Registration doesn’t technically close but we are encouraging potential participants to sign up by Friday, March 22 so we can plan for class sizes.”

The courses offered and the accompanying teachers are as follows:

Chris Herriot is conducting the firearms class.

“It’s a great opportunity to share our knowledge in certain areas with the community,” says Herriot.  “I hope they just get a chance to learn something new and create a better connection with the teaching staff here at Arrowhead.”

Paul hopes that both students and teachers will have a positive experience.

“It would be tremendously rewarding to me,” says Paul.

“For those that are experienced, it is a great opportunity to pick up a few tips that could improve their accuracy and or increase their knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to firearms and their usage.   For those who have little to no experience, this would be a perfect introduction in a non threatening environment,” says Herriot.
