Garbage Is More Important Than You Think

Most Americans are proud to recycle and they highly enjoy the fact that they don’t have to worry about all of this recyclable trash being pent up in the landfills.

As an American, I care about recycling, at least where all the garbage that doesn’t disintegrate naturally goes and who is really behind getting it there.

The job of a garbage man, usually put down by most people, should really be praised. Would you want to get up early in the morning and collect stinky garbage all day?

No one would want to do that, so we should all respect and appreciate that the garbage men do the dirty work for us, literally.

A garbage man works year round picking up the garbage, recyclables, and yard debris.

They need to be able to lift a fair amount of weight, which means being a good shape.

They also need to be able to operate heavy machinery because they will be working the machine that dumps the trash into the big truck that takes the garbage to be recycled/thrown away.

Despite what many think, garbage men actually do need a diploma, at least a high school one,  in order to be a waste management specialist.

They receive training after they get the job, to learn how to operate the machinery needed to be a garbage man, from other, more experienced garbage men.

I, personally, am very happy they do this because if we didn’t have the garbage men, I have no idea what we would do with all of our waste.

I’m glad I won’t have to sign up for the job because there are other people who would be more experienced and I would never be very good at picking up heavy objects, rain or shine, every single day.

We should be happy that we have garbage men, and even though they don’t have college degrees and aren’t doctors or psychologist, that doesn’t mean that they aren’t important to our community.

Without the garbage men we wouldn’t have to take our own trash and dump it in the recycling plants and waste disposal plants ourselves. I don’t think anyone could live without the help of garbage men.
