For many students, school is an escape from their parents, but at Arrowhead High School, some students find themselves learning from their own mom or dad.
“If I ever need anything, she always has extra things,” Chrissy Weisbroad, senior, said when asked what’s good about having a mom who is a study hall teacher here at Arrowhead. “One thing I don’t like is that she pops out of nowhere.”
Mrs. Coraggio is a Spanish teacher at Arrowhead. Her son Andy goes to the school as well. “It’s super nice having my mom teach at my school. I really like it. Having her around whenever I need is nice,” Coraggio, senior, said.
Some don’t even see their parents at school. “It’s nice, but I don’t see him very often. So it doesn’t affect my school” Charlie Lailer, senior, said.
Having kids that go to school where you teach is another thing at Arrowhead High School. It is enjoyable for all of them. Teachers with kids at Arrowhead find it easier for them to support their child throughout school.
“I loved it so much it was so fun to be able to see Riley everyday and get to know all of her friends and teachers,” Ms.Neville, study hall teacher, said.
Finally, many teachers say having their children at their workplace can create a stronger relationship with their child.
