The Arrowhead Alpine Ski Team did a remarkable job in 2023 with the Boys’ and Girls’ teams winning state championships.
“The season was good, but for me, the conditions weren’t good in the middle of the year so I didn’t do super well but in the end I did,” Megan Isabell, Arrowhead Senior, said. She hopes that the snow conditions will be better this year.
“I am very excited to race this year; it’s always fun racing” Gus Wolf, senior, said.
Todd Reineking, AHS Alpine Skiing Head Coach, has high hopes for the upcoming girls’ and boys’ seasons. Despite the loss of 2024 senior, Katie Curry, Coach Reineking has very high expectations for the girls because of the state championship they won last year and the number of returning skiers on this year’s team.
Reinking hopes that this year’s weather is colder than last year’s. The higher temperatures of last year made it harder to practice. This year, with the hopes of cooler weather, Reinkings believes that it will help lead the team to another state championship.
The 2024-2025 downhill ski season is coming up fast; the first race will take place in late January or early February. We can cheer on our Arrowhead Alpine Ski Team and help them get to the state championships.
