The Arrowhead National Honor Society has organized a fundraiser for the city of Asheville, North Carolina, in the wake of the damages caused by Hurricane Helene.
At the Arrowhead Homecoming game on October 11th, Arrowhead’s National Honor Society’s “Miracle Minute” fundraiser raised almost $2,000 and they have received nearly $7,000 overall from outside donations. NHS members are planning to donate all money raised to the Buncombe County area.
“They’re all leaders,” Lin Sattell, fundraiser advisor, said. “They collaborate; they help each other out; they take responsibility.”
The fundraiser is accepting physical donations as well as monetary donations. They remain in contact with members in the Buncombe community and in November they plan to reach them via truck to the county.
“Mr. Mangan was [a] great [help]. Mrs. Danay was great,” Cali Rauch, NHS member, said. “Everyone in the group was great, and we really got stuff done fast.”
NHS members will continue to raise money for Asheville through November and hope to deliver their donations before Thanksgiving.
