Opening on Thursday, October 17th, Arrowhead High School’s Broadway Company is in the middle of producing Cinderella, a musical. The cast and stage crew has been working hard to bring the story to life, including dazzling 19 foot trees on the giant set built right in Arrowhead’s theater.
“Just the sheer size of the set for this show, and maneuvering the trees and figuring out the best way to build them [has been challenging],” Cole Indermuehle, stage crew stage manager, said.
“I feel the show is in a pretty good position. We still need to do a bit of work on the scene changes,” Molly Ignatowski, actress in the play, said about opening night. “It’s exhausting, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything, and I am excited for opening night.”
The show itself is said to be not as hard as Mean Girls, another recent Broadway production.
All members of the cast take their own spin on the character they play. For example, Charlotte played by Molly Ignatowski, is one of two step sisters. Charlotte is the meaner sister and is described as the comedic relief in the show.
Preparation for Broadway Company’s production of Cinderella, according to the cast crew and the live orchestra, is going great. The show opens on Thursday, October 17, at Arrowhead’s theater.
