The Lake Country String Quartet is a four member ensemble serving the Lake Country area. Formed in 2023, the quartet provides services for weddings, fundraisers, corporate events, and other special events. They are currently preparing for performances later this fall. Members include Candy Weitner and Becky Diesler on violin, Anna Hardin on viola and Emma Hardin on cello.
“My favorite gig we’ve played so far is the first wedding we did,” Anna Hardin, viola player, said. “We played at the St. John’s Chapel in Delafield which is a beautiful building with acoustics to match.”
Some of the quartet’s favorite spots to practice include the Marcus Majestic Cinema in Brookfield and at public libraries.
“We have played prior to the Gracenotes Orchestra concerts several times and have played at a few weddings for their services and receptions,” Diesler, violinist, said.
“My favorite gig that I’ve played with the quartet so far is when we played at Zacheriah’s Acres in Oconomowoc,” Hardin, quartet cellist, said. “They had a special spa day for the mothers of kids with disabilities and asked if we would volunteer to play.”
Their most recent large-scale performance, Music at the Museum, took place at the historical Octagon House in Watertown.
The quartet has served areas of Milwaukee, Oconomowoc and West Allis and members are currently preparing for performances later this fall, which include weddings, fundraisers and a performance at the West Allis Veterans Association.
