Many seniors took part in senior skip day on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024. This day was chosen after an Instagram story poll where it gave seniors the option to pick between two dates: May 20th or May 23rd.
The date with the highest percent was chosen for senior skip day.
Seniors who participated in senior skip day had a five day weekend having Thursday, May 23, through Monday, May 27th, 2024 off. All students return to school on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
Senior skip day is not organized by the school but teachers know that there will be seniors gone. Seniors who had sporting events that day had to attend school for at least five periods to play.
Many seniors chose to skip and did things with friends.
Senior Ava Cosentino said, “My friends and I rented a big water slide for senior skip day and played games since it was nice outside.”
On senior skip day the weather was very nice. It was sunny with a few clouds, temperature of 73 degrees, a little breeze, and a UV index high of an 8.
The water slide rentals can be found at Hartland Inflatables where they offer bounce houses, dry slides, obstacle courses, and water slides.
There are different size options ranging from 15’x15’- 32×11’. Prices are not listed on the website but the website does offer to provide a price quote if you put in name, number, type of inflatable, location, and age.
Senior Kate Taylor said, “For senior skip day, I was in Disney with Broadway Company and it was fun but it was a lot at all times.”
The Broadway Company sang in Disney Springs, singing Disney songs. The Broadway Company was in Disney from Wednesday, May 22nd to Sunday, May 26th. The Broadway Company last went to Disney in 2023. According to Taylor, they go every two years to Disney to sing.
Senior Grace Hamilton said, “I went up to the Dells to go golfing and had a shopping day.”
