The Arrowhead girls soccer team held their Senior Night on Friday, May 17th at 7:30 p.m. in a non-conference game against New Berlin West honoring five seniors.
The five seniors include Megan Hughes, Sofie Ignatowski, Tegan Safranek, Ava Oleniczak, and Sophia Dickson.
Arrowhead defeated New Berlin in a 5-0 victory with a ceremony for the seniors during the half.
The ceremony consisted of the seniors being recognized for their hard work with their senior pictures and poster boards hung on the fence. The Arrowhead Girls Soccer scorekeeper and announcer shared future plans each player has as well as some memories from their past seasons.
The seniors got to take pictures with the underclassman who made shirts, as well as walk out and wave to the crowd. Each senior received a gift from the team, ranging from blankets to gift cards.
The future plans for the seniors include the following:
- Hughes is attending the University of Wisconsin majoring in Biochemistry on the Pre-Med track.
- Ignatowski is attending the University of Illinois Chicago to play D1 soccer.
- Safranek is attending the University of Utah to pursue a major in Kinesiology.
- Oleniczak is attending Purdue University Northeast to play D2 soccer and major in Nursing.
- Dickson is attending Northwestern to pursue a major in Biomedical Engineering.
The Warhawks are Classic 8 conference champs with a record of 17-0-1 overall and 8-0-1 in conference. Their one tie was against Kettle Moraine on Tuesday, May 21st, ending the game with a score of 1-1.
According to Max Preps, the Warhawks are currently ranked number one in Wisconsin, and nationally ranked #159.
The WIAA Girls Soccer State Tournament began this week with Regionals.
For their first game on Tuesday, May 28th, #1 Arrowhead played the #16 West Bend West/West Bend East co-op in Regionals and won 9-0.
The Warhawks next game will take place on Saturday, June 1st at Arrowhead against #8 Menomonee Falls.
