Starting next school year, Arrowhead will be participating in Direct Admit Wisconsin. Direct Admit Wisconsin is an initiative by the Universities of Wisconsin to offer admission to qualifying high school students between their junior and senior years of high school.
Direct admission cuts out the traditional application process and instead uses the data from the highschool of the student to admit students into the university.
The participating schools are UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Parkside, UW-Platteville, UW-River Falls, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Stout, UW-Superior, and UW-Whitewater.
To be eligible, students must be enrolled in a participating school district and be on track to complete the credit required for admission which include four units of English, three units of approved math, three units of social science, three units of natural science, and four additional academic units.
Students need to be enrolled as juniors (Class of 2025) and agree to participate. Participation is facilitated by the high school.
Eligibility is determined by class rank and cumulative GPA on an 11th grade transcript. The top 5% are admitted to all UW schools. The top 10% are admitted to all UWs except for Madison.
According to Direct Admit Wisconsin, students who would like to attend schools like Madison would use the UW application as they have done in the past years.
Admission decisions are made beginning August 1 and continue through August of the senior year, based on the application date and UW decision date.
Admission is not guaranteed to specific majors or programs with Direct Admission Wisconsin.
ACT/SAT scores are not a factor in direct admission. Students may need to submit scores for course placement and scholarships.
According to Direct Admit Wisconsin, colleges that do not do direct admissions still will require an essay to be written. This would be shown in the UW application students would fill out.
Direct admission and traditional application are separate processes and do not affect each other.
