Next week, Arrowhead students will be taking their first semester exams from Tuesday, January 16th to Thursday, January 18th. However, on Monday, January 15th and Friday, January 19th, all students will be off.
Students have off on Monday, January 15th for Martin Luther King Jr. day and Friday students have off for teacher in-service.
According to saveourschoolsmarch.com, “Martin Luther King Jr. day is a federal holiday that honors the life and legacy of the renowned civil rights activist.” That is why most public schools in the U.S. close for MLK day but some may stay open and commemorate at school during the day.
Senior Rachel Kleinhans says on Monday she is going to be at home studying for exams and Friday she is going to be chilling.
Along with Kleinhans, senior Grace Hamilton said she is also going to take the time Monday to study for her exams and take the Friday to relax.

Senior Sophie Nowak said she plans to be hanging out with her friends on both the Monday and Friday students have off.
Senior Adalia Fritsche said she plans on being in bed and sleeping because she is going to be coming off of ACL surgery. “I am definitely going to be taking those days easy and resting.”
