As 2023 has come to an end, it’s off to 2024. Some students say they are looking forward to summer, getting new semester classes, and meeting new teachers.
Teachers are also reflecting on their best moments. Some teachers say they are looking forward to meeting new students, finalizing grades up for the semester and getting a new start.
Jessica Thompson, an Arrowhead High School special education teacher, says, “My five year old daughter started kindergarten this fall. Ever since the first day, she talks constantly about her teachers, her new friends, and all of the trouble they get into on the playground. My daughter is also old enough now to participate and help out with holiday festivities. This year we started our own traditions of making cookies for Santa, homemade ornaments, and decorated a countdown to the big day! She is always excited about holidays and these moments just made it all even more fun!”
Other things that students may be looking forward to is summer 2024. With summer comes optional activities that students can take advantage of. One of those opportunities is summer school. If a student takes a summer school class, they have more room in their schedule to take study halls during the 2024- 2025 school year.
Arrowhead offers summer school classes in the following subjects: Math, Gym, English, Adventure Gym and many more.
Julia Payne, a Arrowhead High School junior says, “I went to the Summerfest grounds with one of my friends to see a singer but then they canceled at the last moment. My friend and I just ended up going to the Young Gravy concert. We just got regular seats for free and then the stage managers asked us if we wanted to go into the pit. We got to go in the pit and I had a bunch of fun with my friend!”
