Saturday, November 11th, is Veterans Day. Veterans Day is a federal holiday as well as designated day to honor the men and women who have served in the U.S military.
Veterans Day has been a day to celebrate since 1954, when Congress had a bill passed by President Eisenhower signed into law, proclaiming November 11 as Veterans Day.
This day allows us to honor the people who have sacrificed their lives for our country, and to also give thanks to the men and women who serve in the military right now to protect our country.
Junior Delany Logan says, “I go to a Veterans Day breakfast with my dad who is a veteran.”
Junior Sara Mae says “I call my grandpa and then I also call my brother, and say thank you for your service since they both have served in the military. Rocapa, I will be helping with that as well.”
Teacher Micheal Hall says, “I would call my father and thank him for his service.”
Teacher Terri Carnell says,“At our church we have a celebration where there is a breakfast, and then they will have all the veterans stand up and we honor those remaining members of our church who served, my father for example. We will talk alot about it. They even do a thing for Facebook as well, I put a picture of my dad on there to honor and recognize him. ”
