Arrowhead Students have access to thousands of books at the north and south campus libraries.
English teacher Liz Munkwitz says she is reading Stephen King’s novel, The Institute, for the school’s book club.
The story follows a boy who is kidnapped and taken to an institute for children with psychic powers.
With four out five stars on Amazon, this book is recommended for people who enjoy horror fiction and thrillers. A copy of The Institute can be found on Amazon for $15.83 or the Arrowhead library.
Librarian Lisa Livesey says that mystery and fiction are the most common books students check out from the library.
Senior Laila Alvarado said that they were reading Good Omens, written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
The novel is a comedic fantasy that is about an angel and a demon teaming up to prevent the end of the world.
Good Omens is not in the library, but there are similar books like Stardust by Neil Gaimen or The Golden Compass by Phillip Pullman.
Both south and north libraries open at 6:45 a.m. South closes at 3 p.m and north closes at 4 p.m. Students can check out books for 4 weeks, free of charge. If a book is overdue a fine of five cents per day will be charged.
