One of Arrowhead’s many seniors, Grace Hamilton, says she is a very busy student managing her studies while doing lots of stuff in her free time.
Hamilton is a full time dancer at a dance studio in Waukesha called Eminence Dance Center. She practices six days a week, four hours a day.
Hamilton says, “I love dance but practicing that much becomes straining at times.”
Hamilton says she’s been dancing since she was two and hopes to dance in college.
As a senior, Hamilton has started to apply for colleges and is looking at Viterbo, Lacrosse, and Tennessee where she wants to major in nursing.
As a side gig and a way to make money, when she is not dancing for her team she is still at the studio coaching.
She coaches four days a week before her own practice times.
On top of dancing for her studio, Hamilton danced her freshman, sophomore and junior year for the Arrowhead Hawkettes. She was captain for her team Junior year.
Hamilton says she decided to leave the Hawkettes because she had scheduling issues with her outside life and it could not work for her anymore.
Hamilton says, “[It was] such a great experience and a great group of girls but unfortunately my time as a Hawkette had to come to an end.”
On top of dance, Hamilton takes a lot of pride in her studies, making sure she puts school first. Her favorite class she has taken at Arrowhead is her EMT class which she is currently enrolled in now.
Hamilton says, “I hope it gives me a good start in my journey to the medical field, I want to be a Nurse practitioner and I know this can help.”
While EMT is her favorite class, Hamilton’s least favorite is personal law.
She said, “It’s a good class, it’s just boring for me.”
As a senior, Hamilton has started to apply for colleges and is looking at Viterbo, Lacrosse, and Tennessee where she wants to major in nursing.
Hamilton said she is sad to leave Arrowhead, but wants to leave advice for the lower grades and that is to, “take it day by day and don’t get overwhelmed.”
