Miller Commits to Brown to Play Lacrosse

Miller is a senior on the Arrowhead boy’s varsity lacrosse team. He has been recognized as an all conference, all state and an all American Lacrosse player and he recently committed to playing lacrosse at Brown University.

Jake Miller, a senior on the Arrowhead boy’s varsity lacrosse team, recently verbally committed to Brown University. Miller committed to a scholarship to play D1 lacrosse for Coach Lars Tiffany, starting in the 2014 season.

Miller ended his junior season as an all state, all conference and all American lacrosse player. Miller led the AHS lacrosse team to the semifinal game last year where they lost to Verona, 4-2.

Miller said he also had offers from Loyola, West Point, Marquette, UVA and Holy Cross to play lacrosse.

Miller also said, “Brown offered me a scholarship on July 13, 2013, and I committed just a few weeks later.”

Miller said the major reason he committed to Brown was because it is known for its education and he likes the coaches a lot. He started talking to the coaches in mid July and it didn’t take them long after that to offer him.

The boy’s Brown lacrosse team had an overall winning record of 8-6 during last year’s season.

Brown University is known for their academics. It offers approximately 2,000 courses and 40 academic departments. Brown is in the top 10 lowest acceptance rates at 9% in 2010.

Miller said, “I went on my official on October 20th and it went very well. I really liked everyone on the team.”

Miller’s favorite part about Brown is the diverse and laid back atmosphere.

Miller also said, “As of right now I have no nerves about going to college because I have been that far away from home for a boarding school before.”

Miller plays football, hockey and lacrosse and has always wanted to play one of them in college.

Miller said, “I have always wanted to play a sport in college and I am happy to be playing lacrosse at Brown University.”
