Students Plan for Homecoming Dance

Students of Arrowhead have started planning for this year’s homecoming dance. It will be held on October 15th, 2022 at the North Campus from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The dance will be Hollywood-themed.

Phil Kasun, Arrowhead Social Studies 9 teacher, says, “I won’t be at the dance but I will probably be taking the (Homecoming) float, I did last year for the staff.” However, he says of his past homecoming experiences, he “wound up going with a big group of people having dinner, and actually, well, we made dinner at one of our houses. So we didn’t go out to eat like you guys do.” He also recalled one of his past homecoming themes, “The typical Under the Sea.”

Many Arrowhead students are planning on getting dinner with their friends, with their dates, or staying home and eating. Students will arrive in various modes of transportation: carpooling with friends, arriving by limo, or being dropped off by parents.

Nolan Chuckel, an Arrowhead freshman, says “I am going to the dance in a limo.”

Chuckel says he plans to eat before the dance at “Zen, a nice restaurant in downtown Delafield.”

Oscar Piering, an Arrowhead Freshman, says he was unaware of where he was planning on eating but was certain of somewhere that is a “casual place with good food.”

Piering said he was planning on arriving at the dance with “Maybe my mom or something, I don’t know… probably my friends, yeah my friends.”

According to Maura Phillips, an Arrowhead Sophomore, it can be hard to choose a dress on the internet because you can’t tell how it will look on yourself. “I ordered a dress online, I don’t know if it’s going to be good, though,” says Phillips.

The school is looking for 20 chaperones for the dance this year. Pizza and beverages are included along with the $17 dollar per hour pay. The work hours are from 7:00 to 10:45 pm. Cleaning after the dance will not be responsible for chaperones and instead will be handled by the Student Senate.
