Arrowhead Students React to Recent Music
The song atop the billboard hot 100 is “Nice For What” by Drake and is about a lady who doesn’t need a man: “You got a baby benz, you got some bad friends.”
“He raps with authority,” said Arrowhead senior Adam Nannetti.
“Better than some of his other stuff,” said Arrowhead senior Lucas Cerny.
Coming in the number two spot is “God’s Plan” by Drake and is about prevailing: “There’s a lot of bad things they wishing, they wishing, they wishing on me.”
“One of my favorites recently,” said Cerny.
“Makes me feel optimistic,” said Nannetti.
“No Tears Left To Cry” by Ariana Grande is in the number three spot and is about finally being happy: “Right now I’m in a state of mind, I wanna be in like all the time.”
“I enjoy the message,” said Arrowhead junior Matt Bergum.
“Why did you show me this,” said Arrowhead senior Devin Kritner.
The number four spot is “Meant To Be” by Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line and is about letting life plays it course, “If it’s meant to be, it’ll be.”
“I usually skip this on the radio,” said Kritner.
“Florida Georgia Line is incredible,” said Bergum.
Coming in the number five spot is “Psycho” by Post Malone featuring Ty Dolla and is about jewelry: “Got diamonds by the boatload.”
“This song is perfect to relax to,” said Arrowhead senior Aristotle Maxwell.
“One of the standouts from his new album,” said Arrowhead senior Jordan Liempeck.
“ATM” by J. Cole is in the number six spot and is about how people waste money in our generation: “Can’t take it when you die but can’t live without it,”
“Really good,” said Liempeck.
“Solid message and melody,” said Maxwell.
The number seven spot goes to “The Middle” by Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey and is about meeting in the middle: “Why don’t you just meet me in the middle.”
“So energizing,” said Arrowhead senior Brooke Peddie.
“Too girly for me but its a fun song,” said Arrowhead junior Jordan Bashaw.
Coming in the number eight spot is “Kevin’s Heart” by J. Cole and is about the difficulty of staying loyal while famous: “I’m only human and loving you is a crime.”
“His somber voice gets to me,” said Bashaw.
“Pretty emotional,” said Peddie.
“Look Alive” by BlocBoy JB featuring Drake is in the number ten spot and is about coming to reality: “Pushed me to the edge so it really ain’t my fault.”
“The bass is so good,” said Arrowhead junior Mercedez Mueller.
“They got the drums right on this one,” said Arrowhead senior Salvatore Ciardo.
