Arrowhead Girls Varsity Basketball Team Gets Fired Up For Friday’s Game
Arrowhead girls varsity basketball team is playing our rivals Kettle Moraine this Friday, January 19th, 2018. The game starts at 7:00pm held in the West gym at Arrowhead High School. The Hawkettes and the cheerleaders attend and perform during halftime, and there are options of food at the concessions stand.
Arrowhead girls varsity basketball is ranked #3 in the state currently, the end of the season is near for them, there last conference game is February 15th, against Waukesha North. There are eight games left, and then if they make it into the playoffs it will be playoff games followed by state if they qualify. Arrowhead lost there very first game to Oak Creek and haven’t lost since. They have a 12 game winning streak.
#32 AHS girls varsity basketball post, Lauren With says, “We beat Mukwonago which held the #3 spot, so that bring us to #3. So I feel Like we have a very good shot at making it to state this year.”
The Arrowhead Varsity girls basketball play Milwaukee King ranked #2 Friday, January 26th, in the South Campus gym at Arrowhead High School.
#1 ranking in Wisconsin for girls basketball is currently Appleton North, which have won state 2 years in a row.
Junior Varsity basketball player Gabi Hower says, “We have a good mentality this year and I believe we can make it to state. We have sayings that motivate us to want it which are: Right here, Right now; Be present in the moment; and I promise to be better than I was yesterday. These mean a lot to us because we are always trying to improve and be better than we were yesterday. We should work together more as a team and that will lead us to success.”
With also says, “The Arrowhead girls varsity basketball team made shirts that they wear to practice everyday which has their motto on it, ‘I promise to be better than I was yesterday.’”
Hower says, “We are trying to improve on not only ourselves towards the end of the season but being a stronger team because that’s how it is going to lead us to success in the end.”
With says, “We try to keep the mentality of not taking a shot for yourself, but more so taking one for the team since everyone played a role in scoring and assisting during the time on the court.”
Arrowhead varsity girls basketball is coached by Rick Witte and assisted by Cheryl Bonlender.
The season is coming to an end with only a couple games left Arrowhead stands with a 12-1 win loss rate. Lets see if they keep the 12 game winning streak or lose it!
