Arrowhead Students use Technology to Communicate with Colleges and Coaches

There are many ways to communicate with your future colleges and coaches: emailing, calling, and texting. Some students at Arrowhead talk to their future coaches on social media: tweeting, direct messaging, and keeping up with what’s going on around the campuses.

Nina Orlando, a senior at Arrowhead, says she hopes to attend Lyndenwood University in St. Louis Missouri next fall. She hopes to play field hockey at Lyndenwood, and has been actively emailing the coaches and college admissions officers. She says, “Field hockey is my favorite sport, and I hope I can live out the dream and fulfill my passions at Lyndenwood.”

Kaylee McGill, a senior, uses technology almost daily when it comes to preparing for her future. She has many colleges in her mind, but her favorite is Kent State College University. She says she “emails them back and forth often” and “hopes to get in.” She has been “going back and forth with the…admissions officer” because she is making sure all of her papers are turned in.

Jackie Vondrak, a senior at Arrowhead, says she hopes to be a biotech engineering major at Georgia Tech. In contrast to McGill, Vondrak says she gets emails from the college admissions officers almost weekly.
Vondrak says she is “very excited for college” and it makes her “happy every time I get a notification that I got an email from Georgia Tech.”
