At the start of the 2016-2017 school year, Arrowhead teachers say there are a few things that make a student successful.

Ryan Andrews, an AHS English teacher says, “Responsibility, work ethic, and passion” are important. He says, “Passion is important because it makes the students more likely to become interested, and motivated to learn.”

According to Lisa Tiefenthaler, an AHS Math teacher, “I think the most important thing is that [students] work hard, either in a high school math class, or any class. If you’re willing to work hard, you will do well.”

Tiefenthaler says, “[Students] have to be willing to ask questions, help each other out in group work, all while keeping a positive attitude.”

Recent research from About Education’s article “What are some characteristics that make the perfect student” from August 22, 2016, shows that the most successful people in life have these traits in common: motivation, involved, and leadership.

Being involved in extra-curricular activities at school can help students sprout in confidence, which, in the end, can lead to academic success.

Tiefenthaler says,

“Working together, helping each other, having a positive attitude, all those wonderful things are what teachers love.”
