Captain America: Civil War — the third movie in the Captain America movie series — was released on May 6th, 2016. It’s a action/fantasy/science fiction film rated PG-13.

The plot of this movie starts as humans fear the actions of super heroes. The government responds by deciding to push for the Hero Registration Act, a law that limits a hero’s actions. This results in a division in The Avengers. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) stands with this Act, claiming that their actions must be kept in check (otherwise cities will continue to be destroyed), but Captain America (Chris Evans) feels that saving the world is daring enough and that they cannot rely on the government to protect the world. This escalates into an all-out war between Team Iron Man (Iron Man, Black Panther, Vision, Black Widow, War Machine, and Spiderman) and Team Captain America (Captain America, Bucky Barnes, Falcon, Sharon Carter, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, and Ant Man) while a new villain emerges.

“I’m not going to lie, when I first saw the trailer to this movie, I wasn’t sure if I would have liked it because The Avengers, I thought, were supposed to all be friends, and get along, not go against each other. I didn’t like the thought that they would be fighting each other, but I still went to see it. One word — amazing. I’m not kidding it was so good, and so action packed, which I like. I won’t spoil anything but the plot to have the hero’s turn against each other was actually really good,” says senior Kyla Edwards.

Arrowhead students can view this movie at local theatres including the Marcus Cinema in Hillside and the Majestic Cinema in Waukesha. For an additional money saver, according to marcustheatres.com, Marcus Theatre in Delafield, as well as Majestic in Waukesha have $5 Tuesday movies on any movie, any time, for anyone.

“I went a couple days after it came out, right after school so it wouldn’t be busy at an early time, and I walked into it being packed. It was really popular from what I saw and for good reason cause the movie was really good. I thought it was a good third movie to the Captain America series,” says senior Marissa Kildow.

The movie got good reviews from critics. Eric Eisenberg from cinemablend.com stated that, “Marvel has a better grip on Captain America than any of their heroes, and it can be said with confidence that the three movies come together to create the greatest superhero trilogy of all time.”

Another strong review from variety.com, critic justin Chang states, “A decisively superior hero-vs.-hero extravaganza that also ranks as the most mature and substantive picture to have yet emerged from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

There is a long list of popular actors and actresses in this movie, for example, Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow). Chris Evans you may remember had large roles in movies, The Avengers, Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: Winter Soldier, as well as, The Iceman, Push, and the Fantastic Four series, according to imdb.com.
