Thrilling Scares Coming From The Mars Haunted House!
“If you’re looking for a scare worth remembering, come visit the Mars Haunted House,” says owner of the Mars Haunted house Jim Mars, according to the Mars Haunted House website. “We’re not like other Wisconsin haunted houses. Our characters come from everywhere and make sure we scare the crap out of you.”
The Mars Haunted House is located at 734 W Historic Mitchell St, in Milwaukee, WI. Parking is free on city streets, as well as in the city lot located on 8th Street.
The haunted house is open from 7pm to 11pm on Saturdays and Sundays and will be open until the end of October.
According to the Mars Haunted House website, general admission is $13.00 and children under 12 are $10.00 (children must be accompanied by an adult). If you’re going with a group of 15 or more people, it’s $11.00 per person and the group leader must make a single payment for the group. Tickets are available at the box office at the Mars Haunted House.
The tour length is approximately 15-20 minutes long.
According to the Mars Haunted House website, this haunted house is located on the second story of a haunted old commercial built in the late 1800’s.
In September 1983, the main floor of the building was used as a sales floor for retail goods. The upstairs was used for a variety of purposes. One half of the building was composed of many small rooms where medical or dental work was done. The other half was used as an apartment-type house, which was the residence of a single family.
According to the Mars Haunted House website, some people say they experience a chilling sensation when walking through the house.
According to the Mars Haunted house website, the Milton family still roams through the upstairs of the building and they will never leave the site of their horrendous murder. This murder consisted of the entire Milton family shot dead by Mr. Milton himself.
“It was so scary. I’ve never been that scared before. They thought of everything. Every fear you had, they just brought it out in the haunted house. It was insane,” says senior Donovan McAnany.
During the tour, guests experience audio, lighting, low visibility, uneven walkways, strobe lights, fog, damp or wet conditions, and a physically demanding environment.
Arrowhead High School senior Maddie Hemmer says, “At the beginning, I was pretty scared and almost started crying before I even payed to get in. Definitely though, towards the end of the tour, I was so happy I did it. It was my first haunted house and I know it will be my favorite over any future haunted houses I go to. I recommend everyone goes for a fun and scary adventure.”
Members of the Mars Haunted House advise participants who are pregnant, claustrophobic, prone to seizures, heart or respiratory problems to attend with caution.
“Overall, I had an awesome time. It’s so scary, but going was the best decision I could have made. It was by far the best haunted house I’ve ever been to. They made everything look real and not fake like other places do. It was awesome and I recommend it,” says senior Emma Repka.
