Review: Let’s be Cops

Let’s be Cops is action comedy movie that was released on August 13. The movie was directed by Luke Greenfield, who also directed something borrowed. The two lead characters Justin and ryan are played by Damon wayans, jr. and Jake M. Johnson. The lead female and ryans girlfriend josie is played by Nina Dobrev from vampire diaries.

The movie is about two friends who through decide to impersonate cops when they discover being a cops has its perks.  The character Ryan mistakes a masquerade party for a costume party, and the two friends end up showing up as cops. After the party the two friends walk down the streets of california and realize they are treated completely different as cops.  They end up continuing the ruse but get mixed up with a very dangerous group of mobsters.

I found this to be a great movie because i thought there was just the right amount of action and comedy.  The story line was new and different, i didn’t feel like it was like every other movie about two cops fighting side by side.  It made laugh but it also had some serious realistic elements in there too.

I think it would be a great movie to go see with your friends and maybe even your family but i would not recommend that. It is rated R,  and it definitely has some sexual scenes, and vulgar language. If you’re looking for  a fun thing to do with your friends going to see lets be cops could be something you and your friends would enjoy.

“I think the movie was pretty good, but could be much better. the plot was funny as hell, and the crew they chose for the movie, but the plot was too far fetched. It could have been done better if they made the plot more realistic. Like where they were fighting with the drug lord, and the guy was able to withstand the punch by the big white dude, shake it off while being on crystal meth, and then fight back and knock out the big dude. Idk.. Maybe more slapstick comedy between the two cops.  Overall rating: B+.” Ben Milhojevichphoto (7)
