Arrowhead holds Wisconsin Education Fair
The Wisconsin Education Fair or WEF is held at Arrowhead yearly and was on October 8, 2014 in the Arrowhead North Campus Commons, according to Arrowhead’s website.
“The [Wisconsin Education Fairs] are a great way for student be they juniors, senior, or sophomores ,if they are really on top of it, to get some general information about colleges, scholarships, and other non-college options,” says Viterbo University recruiter Myriah Borofka
Borofka spends her time at the college fairs giving out information about Viterbo University. But, her focus is on helping students find the best college fit for them. According to the Arrowhead website Borofka was one of 120 recruiters who participated in the fair this year.
“I need to figure out which [college] has what I want to major in, is within my budget, and tickles my fancy.” says Arrowhead Sophomore Andrew Heinrich.
Heinrich says that he needs to get a lot of general information so he can choose the right college.
Arrowhead Junior Drew Renner has a different approach to attending the college fairs.
“I just want to talk with the couple [colleges] I already had picked out and get some questions answered about scholarships and such.” say Renner.
Renner continues by explaining how he only needs to talk with three recruiters; however, they are very popular colleges so he thinks he will be waiting in line for a while.
“Why would I go to a fair when I have already applied to my selected college. And I’ve been accepted by them.” Says Arrowhead Senior Grant Wesolowski.
Wesolowski says that even though he did not attend this year. All of the colleges he has applied to were colleges that he found due to attending the college fair in 2014.
“I may not have gone this year, but everyone should go [to the college fair] at least one time [in their four years at Arrowhead]” concludes Wesolowski.
Any questions or concerns regarding the 2016 college fair can be brought to the Arrowhead north campus guidance office.
