Traveling Through Time: the Seasons of Wisconsin
As the year progresses, the seasons of Wisconsin provide a rapid change in setting. While some people have a strong distaste for the short, fickle seasons, others enjoy the change. However, they may have a favorite season. Whether the temperature or the colors of nature, one season seems to take preference in everyone’s life. The reasons differ from one person to the next just as spring turns into summer.
As fall is in full bloom with the changing of leaves and crisp autumn air, Emily Landry, an Arrowhead senior, is already out of the mindset of summer and ready to take on fall. She says she likes the weather and all of the activities that come along with it.
“I like the smell of leaves and I get to wear boots,” she says.
Landry says her favorite type of footwear is boots, so the weather that accompanies the season of fall is ideal for this.
“I like fall because tennis is in the fall,” Landry says.
Landry is a player for the JV Blue tennis team at Arrowhead High School, so she says fall is the perfect time for her to get back on the court with her friends.
“Fall is when homecoming is, and I like to dance at homecoming,” she says.
Homecoming is one of Landry’s favorite things about the fall, so she says it contributes to the fact that fall is her favorite season.
Landry went to the Arrowhead homecoming which took place on October 4th, 2014. She wore a black dress paired with an earthy green necklace to ring in the new season.
Landry also says Halloween is one of her favorite holidays, so it makes fall even better. She says she is excited for Halloween and fall activities, like carving pumpkins, to take place this fall.
Similar to Landry, Aubrey Kallenberger, an Arrowhead senior, says she loves fall more than any other season.
“All of the trees are colorful, and it’s not too hot and not too cold,” she says.
Kallenberger says the temperature is perfect for her and all of the activities she likes to partake in.
“Homecoming is fun and it’s in the fall,” she says.
Like Landry, the timing of homecoming contributes to her enjoyment of the season of Fall.
Kallenberger also says she carves pumpkins, and it is one of her favorite things to do. She says she carves them with her friends, family, and clubs at school.
“Carving pumpkins is my favorite thing to do,” she says.
She also says that the Fall activities of not just Arrowhead, but of Wisconsin in general are the reason for her love of the season.
Kallenberger says she loves everything about fall but loves one thing more than everything else.
“It’s the perfect temperature,” she says.
