Have you heard about the School Store?
There has been new changes to the Arrowhead High School store the 2014-2015 school year. The school store is open after school until 3:15pm. There has been new rules to the school store. Alyssa Amann, senior who works at the store, said they have now got rid of all candy and regular soda. The store has added baked chips, tea and protein bars.
This year store is going to have two different sizes of frozen yogurt, from Yo Mama’s, starting in the next couple of weeks. There will be a small size for $2.00 which is the new size and then the medium at the price of $3.00. Both these dollar amounts include one topping like oreos, sour gummy worms and gummy bears. Also as the seasons change there will be new flavors including pumpkin in October, mint in Winter and raspberry in spring.
Business teacher Steve Melzer, the teacher in charge of the school store, bought with the profit from last year some new furniture. The furniture includes tables, chairs and a bench all with the Arrowhead A print on them. Yo Mama’s gave the store two big, brown chairs from their store to promote the frozen yogurt according to Alyssa Amann.
Amann said, “I really enjoy working at the school store. Having students come in to get food or even relax is nice. We all just like to hang out and forget about the worries of school when in the store.”
Amann has been working at the store for two years and now is a DECA officer. She says she has been in every business class that Arrowhead offers.
Amann says, “People really enjoy themselves more when in the store. Either they play video games or watch a football game. The atmosphere is really fun and energetic.”
In the store there is a TV for Xbox games or watching, lounging chairs and tables to eat. Currently the store is selling Caramel Apple Suckers, three for a dollar, Izze tea for a dollar, Arnold Palmer half tea half lemonade for a dollar, Pringles for a dollar as well.
