During the Fall season, Arrowhead Field Hockey is in full swing. Arrowhead has a Varsity, Varsity Reserve, and Junior Varsity team, each with approximately 18-20 girls. So far, their season has been a successful one.
“I’d say the season is going really well so far,” Ava Laurin, junior, said. “We’ve won the majority of our games and beat each team at least once. I really like field hockey because of the variety of plays we get to do.”
“This year, my coaches have helped by encouraging my teammates and me to put in our full effort and use our time together as an escape from the chaos of our daily lives,” Sadie Burich, junior, said. “Arrowhead’s field hockey team has great chemistry and is a great group of girls!”
In addition to the successful season, juniors Paxtyn Showers and Elliot Engelhardt have been put on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) watch list for their incredible efforts this season.
The field hockey conference is relatively small. Arrowhead field hockey plays against teams from Brookfield Academy, University School of Milwaukee, Divine Savior Holy Angels, Trinity Academy, Kettle Moraine High School, Living Word Academy, and University Lake School.
On October 18th, Varsity has state finals at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee. These ladies have worked hard all season, and everyone at Arrowhead wishes them good luck at state.
