The regular season is over, and it’s time for your golf girlies to make their way to regionals. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are all ready to face playoffs and regionals with a good season out of the way. The regular season ended with Arrowhead doing an “outstanding job” in the regular season, according to their head coach, Ryan Andrews, a teacher at Arrowhead. The team brought home the Classic 8 championship once again with both JV and Varsity. Now the team is very excited for the WIAA State Tournament.
As for the girls’ golf team members, they have all had their fair share of accomplishments and wins this year. Here is a list and rundown of all the amazing things our Arrowhead golf girlies have done in their regular season:
Nina Lang (senior): Classic 8 Player of the Year & 1st Team All-Conference. Also tied the school record for an 18-hole score by shooting a 5 under par 67 at Rolling Meadows. 49 birdies this season.
Addison Johannes (sophomore): 1st Team All-Conference and 18 birdies this season.
Addie Krug-Trost (senior): 2nd Team All-Conference and had a hole-in-one at Wanaki with a 9-iron.
Evelyn Grieve-Waite (junior): 2nd Team All-Conference and personal record this season with 82 at Broadlands.
Gabby Sobek (senior): Honorable Mention All-Conference and led the team with 2 eagles this season.
Kathryn McKenna (senior): personal record this season 82 at Dretzka Park
Sophia Tuerk (sophomore): won the JV Conference Championship with a 43 at Broadlands
Look at all these accomplishments your Arrowhead girls’ golf team has made. “We believe if we keep working hard and doing our best, that we can go very far this postseason,” Andrews said. This season has been a good one and will continue to get better throughout the playoffs. Show your golf girls some love!
