The Arrowhead Girls Swim and Dive Team (AHSGSD) has had a successful season so far. AHSGSD is in a new conference this year, but the Warhawks adjusted nicely. The team started off the season with a win at the MSOA Invite, scoring 444 points, and at the Classic 8 Conference Relay meet, scoring 122 points. The Girls Varsity team placed third at the Blackshirt Invite. Although the team beat Muskego at these two meets, Muskego won the Duel Meet on Thursday, September 25.
Apart from victories in the pool, the swim team has found immense success in its fundraising efforts. The team was a leader at the Make-A Wish Walk for Wishes in Milwaukee, raising $26,000. AHSGSD is one of the highest contributors to the Hartland Food Pantry as well.
“Swim is a huge commitment but it brings you friends that feel like a second family,” Lucy Kempson, senior, said.
This is the last year Coach Ruth Ann Ahnen and Coach Kim Grimes will be coaching the Warhawks. The Arrowhead wants to thank them for their dedication and support for both the team and community.
October 2 is Parents Night, where the team honors the parents/guardians of the swimmers. A week later, on October 9, the team will honor the seniors at Senior Night. On October 11, AHSGSD will compete at the Cedarburg Invite. The Conference Meet is on Saturday, October 25, at Muskego.
