This year, Arrowhead added a new special education teacher to its staff. Mr. Noennig’s first month has been successful, and students are drawn to his commitment to teaching.
Before his teaching career, Mr. Noennig attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He was a member of both the track and football teams. “Being a student athlete taught me valuable lessons about time management, perseverance, and teamwork, skills that I continue to apply in my teaching career today,” Mr. Noennig said.
Mr. Noennig wanted to become a special education teacher because of his own experiences. “When I was younger, I experienced significant challenges in school because I was born with a hearing defect,” Mr. Noennig said. “Although surgeries later corrected it, I can still vividly remember the frustration I felt during my early school years when I struggled to understand the content.” These experiences gave him a deep sense of empathy for students and kids with obstacles, encouraging him to become a special education teacher so that students feel supported and have a successful learning experience.
Arrowhead’s commitment to excellence is one of the factors that drew Mr. Noennig in, along with its commitment to student growth and the pride the community has for the school. “I could tell that it is a place where both academics and personal development are valued,” Mr. Noennig said.
The first month of school has been good for Mr. Noennig. He feels welcomed by the students, staff, and Arrowhead community. Mr. Noennig has found new opportunities to connect with students each day and helped them with reaching their goals. He is looking forward to the rest of the school year.
