There is an upcoming election on April 2, 2025. On the ballot will be the Arrowhead Referendum. If approved, it would allow the school to fund projects such as a campus expansion, combining both North and South campuses into one and a renovated pool. However, a group of taxpayers are suing the school for allegedly misrepresenting the proposed cost of the referendum.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, a group called “Arrowhead No” which consists of residents and taxpayers, filed a lawsuit in the Waukesha County Circuit Court. The group says the referendum violates state law by misrepresenting the taxpayer cost by over $100 million.
Another group composed of residents and taxpayers, “Arrowhead Yes,” opposes the sentiments expressed in the lawsuit. On this group’s website they provide information about newer facilities which were donated to the school, not taxpayer money.
According to Arrowhead Union High School’s website, the school needs safety and security issues to be addressed, better educational facilities, more maintenance for the aging facilities, a more efficient campus and a solution for the pool’s failing infrastructure.
Additional information about the referendum can be found on the Arrowhead Union High School District’s website.
