On January 11th, Kettle Moraine High School hosted the DECA District Career Development Conference for District 5 which covers the southeastern Wisconsin area.

This conference was for new and returning DECA members and is the first chance of the year to put students’ marketing and business knowledge to the test in the competitive event they choose. There are individual or team events in which students can compete.
The top performers from each event will automatically qualify to attend the State Career Development Conference on February 24-26, 2025 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. At SCDC, over 1,400 Wisconsin DECA members compete for a spot at the International Career Development Conference which is April 26-29, 2025 in Orlando, Florida.
Three Arrowhead students earned first-place medals in their respective categories. Logan Welter placed in Business Services, Gavin Dai in Food Marketing, and Aubrey McGuire in Marketing Communication.
Two Arrowhead students earned third-place medals in their respective categories: Dia Arora in Entrepreneurship and Rylie Gagon in Retail Merchandising.
Depending on qualification for the school’s chapter, other spots will be available for members who did not qualify for state to still have a spot at state per the school’s quota number. Also, there are competitive event projects that are prepared events that require a written project as well as a prepared presentation, and some require participants to take a career cluster exam that any DECA student can participate in.
Good luck to the competitors at State!
