Every year Arrowhead hosts exchange students from different parts of the world. I interviewed Ana Krasniqi to gather more insight on her experience as an exchange student in Wisconsin.
Q: Where are you from?
A: I’m from Kosovo, specifically the capital city, Prishtina.
Q: How has adjusting to Wisconsin and Arrowhead life been?
A: Adjusting has been easier than I expected, thanks to the warm and welcoming community at Arrowhead. The school and its students have made me feel at home, even though so much is different, such as the education system, activities, language, and even the weather. Everyone has been incredibly kind and supportive, which has made this transition an amazing experience.
Q: What class has been your favorite so far?
A: I’d say U.S History because it’s fascinating to learn about something we don’t usually cover in Europe, so it was nice to get more knowledge on it. It’s also a very interesting class.
Q: What has been your favorite non-school-related part of Wisconsin?
A: Wisconsin is stunning! The lakes, forests, and snowy winters are so different from what I’m used to back home, but I’ve fallen in love with it all. I’m especially excited to try skiing this year, winter sports and the outdoors here are just amazing.
Q: Have you traveled to any other places in the U.S. besides Wisconsin? If so, which ones?
A: Yes, I’ve been to New York, Illinois, Washington DC, and I plan on visiting Florida and Alabama in the spring.
Arrowhead’s ability to host exchange students is one of the many things which sets it apart. It is an enjoyable experience for both the student and host family.
