Arrowhead Boys Basketball Win at Fiserv Forum

The Arrowhead Boys Basketball team won their game against Racine Horlick 72-63 Wednesday, December 4th, at Fiserv Forum.

“Playing at Fiserv Forum was awesome. We got there and immediately we were [taken] to the locker rooms and then from there, we had to wait for our time to get on the court. Walking out on the floor was such an amazing experience especially to be on a new court in a new building,” said Coach Craig Haase.

That win improved the Warhawks to 3-1 on the season. Their first was the game loss to Milwaukee King. After that, they experienced three straight wins against Wisconsin Lutheran, Kettle Moraine and now Racine Horlick respectively.

Haase says, “I think all of the kids really enjoyed it as coaches being able to watch the Bucks game together and think about how we as a team had just played there is so cool to think about.”

“Playing at Fiserv Forum was an incredible experience. I have never played in a venue like that before, and playing in the brand new arena for such a big game for us was just incredible to be a part of,” said senior Jacob Boray.

Boray, the first man off the bench for the Warhawks, recorded a school record of taking four charges for the Warhawks, along with adding a career high of 7 points.

“Jacob was just unbelievable great in that game. He came off the bench and right away he gave us a spark having 7 points in the first half. Yet better than that, he had three charges in the first half which had never been done before in Arrowhead High School history. And to take the fourth charge in the second half which has also never been done before in Arrowhead history, and anytime you can set a record in this place is a pretty amazing accomplishment,” said Haase.

“The best part of Jacob is him being a senior and never being a starter is that he shows up every day works super hard, never complains. He just gets after it and when he got that opportunity, he certainly made the most of it. And I am just super happy for him especially because of all the time and dedication he put into the program,” said Haase.

Boray says he feels that the team is getting better overall and that they are doing better on accomplishing their assignments.

“I thought we played very well. We shut down their best player on defense. The first half, we hustled and made shots on offense to give us a big league,” said Boray.

The team’s next game was another victory on Friday, December 7th, 2018 at Arrowhead, they beat Oconomowoc 65-58.

“It was a hard-fought victory that now that now has put us in first place for the conference, I personally feel like we now are in the best spot to come out on top for the conference,” says Boray.
