Vince Mancuso Returns to AHS
Vince Mancuso, a gym and health teacher was gone last year, because of his wife’s job, but returned this year to teach at Arrowhead.
Mancuso says, “ I left last year, because my wife took a job in New York and I went to go help settle her in. I also worked in an intercity wellness center; it was very poor and diverse.”
Even though Mancuso knew he was going to be leaving for year, he says always intended on coming back to Arrowhead.
Mancuso says, “I knew I was [going to] come back when I left because Arrowhead is special, academically advanced with great kids, and I enjoy coaching baseball.”
Will Simons is a junior who has Mancuso as a gym teacher this year.
Simons says, “[Mancuso] is a really cool guy and very strong. He’s also very upfront and laid back.”
Simons is an avid runner who enjoys participates in cross country and track.
He says, “I joined gym because I want to better myself as an athlete.”
Mancuso also has his students do many activities that are both individual and team during gym and Simons says, “My favorite thing to do in gym is team activities.”
Mancuso says he has been teaching for about eight or nine years in many different places.
He says, “I’ve taught outside of Madison, Denver, New Jersey; I’ve been all over the place.”
