The cleveland Indians win streak has been nearly a month of dominance. On thursday night they aimed to stretch their win total to 22 wins, which would give them the second longest winning streak in MLB history.

The winning streak they had surpassed was the 1935 Chicago Cubs who had 21 wins. They continue to dominate during their win streak and have totaled 110 runs during this stretch of games. But it wasn’t that dominate according to last nights game which had many fans worried about the win streak.

Arrowhead Senior Zach Kocher said, “Watching the game last night had me worried.”

Down to their final strike in the bottom of the ninth inning against Kansas City Royals closer Kelvin Herrera, All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor smoked a double off the left-field wall, scoring the tying run and sending the game to extra innings.

One inning later Jay Bruce smashed a ball to the right side of the field ultimately scoring the winning run for Indians. The runner was Jose Ramirez and that gave them their 22nd win of the win streak and brought them to the 2nd best winning streak record in the MLB.

Arrowhead Sophomore Matthew Hoeppner said, “I thought they were going to lose when they were down to the final strike.”

What’s next for Cleveland Indians? The Indians have secured a playoff spot with this win-streak and are closing in on the all time win streak record. The all-time record is 26 wins by the 1916 New York Giants. The Cleveland Indians are inching closer and closer to breaking records and are on the verge of another world series appearance.
